Choke assembly comes out
dlphil10:
When I was adjusting my choke the main shaft that interacts with the fast idle cam, choke pull off linkage, and choke lever popped out of the main casting. I got it back together but it's very loose. Am I missing a piece or is there something that I can do to secure it better?
Cliff Ruggles:
Carburetor part number? Pics?
dlphil10:
Sure, the carb is 7029262. The shaft the fast idle and pull off cam are operated off of that goes into the main body is what can pull out. Picture attached.
Cliff Ruggles:
Difficult to see anything from the pic.
If the shaft came out of the bracket you'll need to remove it and drive it back in place and stake it to keep it from coming out again.....Cliff
Mr.Pontiac:
When you say loose, how loose, you should be able to move cam up and down easily, You don,t have cam on backwards do you??? Just asking. seen it happen. There is play in the lever that choke arm go,s thru & the outside screw should hold everything else tight. I usually ad a small drop of red loctite to the screw.
