Idle Channel Restrictions and Another question

Hello All,

How important is the shape of the idle channel restriction? The originals are a cup design and the restriction is almost knife edged given the thinness of the cup.
Can a replacement be fabricated like an air bleed and be expected to function correctly or is it better to use 'store bought' cups?


Another Question:
What is the importance of the very tiny hole near the top of the main fuel channel in the bowl? It's maybe  0.026 and dumps into the air stream. I figure it is a syphon breaker but I'm not sure. I see no mention of it in the "Book".

The shape of the IDC restriction doesn't really matter, it's location does.  We sell channel restrictions and main airbleeds.  They are slightly chamfered on the outer edge on one side to help get them started.

The small holes just below the nozzles should be left as delivered, as should the holes in the end of the brass nozzles.  They are part of the carburetors original calibration, and both have a small impact on fuel delivery to the engine......Cliff
