Stainless heat shield

Hello, I am installing a 17058253 (1978 Oldsmobile) carb on a 1966 Buick intake. The Buick intake uses the stainless heat shield under the carb. After 50+ years the exhaust gases have burned through the stainless plate. I'm just wondering if it matters which plate I use as a replacement.
