Why do 68-9 carbs seem to have these in the airhorn tube behind choke plate??

(1/1)

Mr.Pontiac:
Does anybody know why the little T fitting is shoved down the tube behind the choke blade?? Ive have seen it numerous times. Is it there for a reason or just to confuse all of us q-jet lovers. Thanks for all the great answers i  have been getting.

Kenth:
The checkball spring retainer "T" is put there by carb rebuilding factories to stop the user from putting the air cleaner stud in there and destroy the float assembly.

Mr.Pontiac:
Great answer, Thank You VERY MUCH
