GM Holden Quadrajet 17110649?
Smitty:
G'day from Australia
GM reckon the part number for the Quadrajet ( I am using on my circuit race car)
is 17110649 per the parts catalogue
but the details stamped on the side of the carb is
17084596 1055 JRB
Anyone have any more they can share on this ?
TIA

Pictures of it would help.
The Holden Q-jets were pretty much the same as the ones used here. Early units were similar to Chevy units, then they used some Olds style for a few years close to the 1970-74 Olds carbs used here.
In later years they used a front inlet hot-air choke model very close to the Olds carbs used here from 1975-1980.
The tune in similar fashion and use the same parts.......

!985 VK Commodore 304/308 carb
Our 308s are extremely close in design to the Oldsmobile V8. Right down to the firing order. They are a very light weight cast iron block V8

Pretty much the equivalent of a 1979-80 Oldsmobile unit. It would take the same parts and tune in similar fashion.
Very nice unit, big CFM, APT, front inlet and convert easily to electric choke.
It's very close to the 1977 Pontiac carb I use on my own engine and it supports over 550hp. Nothing I've tested against it to date will outrun it, dyno or at the track........Cliff
