After 7042270 is XG.  Then under that is 0242.

Having a Plant Code and dated 1972 is a good find.  Might want to clean that one up and offer it for sale.  Someone may be looking for one for the 1972 Pontiac 455 HO project.......

Ok, Thanks. Maybe i'll have it cleaned up and have it re built. Where is the best place to try and sell it?  And should i have it re built?

If it "looks like heck" most likely it will need restored, so expensive.

I'd sell it as-is if that's the case.

There are several Pontiac Forums you can join and list parts for sale.  Performance Years is a good one. 

You can also list it on this Forum in the For Sale section....
