61-S primary rod

Hello Cliff...I have this 61  “S” rod which seems to be the full tapered type with a fat lower tip(.036”).
 Can it be dialed down to a .054” using the air lid APT?   Or  It is there a limit To how the APT can dial where needed? Thanks.
