Some years back I recall that Sierra Marine was producing (contracted out to someone in Asia no doubt) new marine Quadrajets, these were actually on the market for approx $600, not sure if they came from the same vendor that made the one in the article, but it makes you realize how hard it is to get good quality parts these days.
