This carb is on my 77 chevy pickup with 400 small block.  My Dad bought the truck when it was a year old. Engine rebuilt years ago with 110K on it.  I haven't got into the carb yet but through my research in your book it seems to be from a '75 Checker with Fed emissions. This is a California emission truck.

I'm just wondering if this was possibly an aftermarket rebuild that the mechanic put on there? And if it should work ok with the 400?  I'm not sure what engines checker used.

Thanks!
Tom
PS I'm in the Denver now so Altitude could be an issue when I rebuild this thing.
pps the date code is 3104

Ok, I'm going to ramble a bit more... :)
Upon further thinking this must be a service replacement carb.
Any ideas how I should set this up for basic stock/very mild performance?
It's a 4 wheel drive, 3.07 gears with 33" tires. I also added a 1" phenolic spacer because fuel was boiling in the carb.

The later build date indicates it's probably a SR carb.   In any case, it must be set up exactly for the application.  Any engine mods and the alititude must be factored in to the basic set-up....Cliff
