secondary door adjustment spring

hi there...just put one of your kits in my 7040502 q jet on my 72 monte carlo ...engine is a stock 1994 gen v 454...what is the best basic setting to set the secondary spring at for secondaries? just till they close then 1 turn? 2 turns ? more info appreciated thanks !!

With the air flap shut, rotate the spring adj. screw until the spring hook
just contacts the pin on the shaft. rotate another 3/4 turn and lock it down.
Open the flap with your finger several times and make sure it doesnt feel gritty.
You can fine tune it later.

FO FIDDY FO in a monte sounds like a lot of fun!

Cliff Ruggles:
Start at 3/4 turns once the spring contacts the pin.  Lubricate the pin with grease.

Do NOT go much past one for turn or you will ruin the spring.......
