Carter 4852s quadrajet
« on: March 12, 2023, 05:42:30 PM »
Recently acquired a  Carter 4852s carb at a garage sale which looks almost like new inside (not a reman) only info I can find is that it's a replacement 69 Pontiac carb, automatic. Got it so I can use it as the main carb as it has all the matching parts and better float design... (main body, baseplate, air horn)

My question is, is it basically a Carter version 7029262 or 7029268 qjet?
Also What's the difference between this Carter and those originals as far as calibrations? Mab, jets, etc
Has the primary poe and upper idle air bleed screw on the air horn.
Internet isn't much help lol.

Thank you.

Carter was hired to build them as "Service Replacement".  It may cover more than one part number and more than one year, but yes, it will work if that is what it was built to replace......
