I kinda like the 79-up mixture screws that have no slot and the odd shaped head on my port engine.  I have a special driver that fits over the end and stays connected during tuning.

But the starboard engine has the larger screws with a screw driver slot.  I'm getting ready to rebuild the starboard carb to match the recipe I used on the port carb.  I also have a few of the 79-up baseplates with the newer mixture screws.  Are there any issues using a newer base plate on the 17057298 body?

As long as the baseplate is from another divorced choke Marine carburetor you should be fine.

Hopefully you are using my Marine Rebuild Kits in them, nothing else will have the correct components nor will the accl pump seal hold up in this new fuel.....

Thanks Cliff,
Yes I ordered the kit yesterday along with idle tubes and power piston springs.  I used your kit (and your book) on the port engine with amazing results.  Noticeably better gas mileage.  Most complete, high-quality kits on the market.
