Carb Mounting Gasket?
« on: January 12, 2024, 01:20:43 PM »
Hello to all. I am reinstalling my Rochester Quadrajet (7029207) back on my 69 sb. Stock intake manifold if that makes any difference. When removed it had a  gasket and heat shield, very similar to what Cliff sells. I notice that Cliff also has a "Quadrajet Flange Gasket" that is .250" thick. I started wondering if this gasket should be used with the heat shield instead of the thinner gasket? Can someone tell me what the reason or use is for the thicker gasket VS the thinner gasket. Thanks in advance.

On that intake you need to use the factory "hot slot" gasket and metal heat shield on top of it....
