wings on my base gasket
« on: February 20, 2025, 02:53:30 PM »
I'm 75% sure this is from the rebuild kit I bought from Cliff
In any case, what do the flaps in the secondary bores on this gasket do, and should I just hack them off?

Looks like it's backwards.

It is clear that the gasket is installed in the wrong direction.

Four holes that perfectly match the holes in the carb and manifold, except for the quarter-moon protrusion into the secondaries, and orientation of the gasket is the problem here?

I tried to tell Cliff those winged gaskets werent gonna go over very well........

Guero, pick up the phenolic spacer and turn the gasket around and set
the spacer straight back down. Then  post another picture of it.

If all else fails use a 4 hole gasket.
