Just noticed, that's the early carb, not the late 70's design with an APT accessed from the top is it? If so, I've got several of the early ones. I had just glanced quickly at the last 3 digits and saw the "230".

I've had several carbs that have had that problem. Always figured that the top was junk, but one I'd gotten ahold of had a slick fix for that.
Whomever had it before me had taken a shouldered screw with the right size threads and drilled the lever so that the shoulder would fit through it and just screwed into the remaining piece on the top after threading it of course.
The only problem I've had is in trying to locate more of the shouldered screws. If I had a source, I've got about 3 or 4 air horns that really don't have any other issues that I could use then.

When I looked up the number came up as 79 Olds.
17056240 comes up as a Buick carb too.
