Quadrajet Problem Solving > Quadrajet Parts and Numbers
Do these Primary Rods EXIST or are they just TYPOs?
(1/1)
SUPRCHY:
Doing some Quadrajet research and I've found some Primary & Auxiliary Rod numbers listed in the 9C's that don't show up on any lists or internet searches. I hope someone has dealt with these before. Thanks for any help given.
P. ROD# 9C- CARB#
1.) 7043537 2012 7045193
2.) 17053335 3091T 17058512
3.) 17053339 2014-A 17057533
AUX. ROD# 9C- CARB#
4.) 17052814 2012 7045193/230
4.) 17052815 1045 7045548
Interesting how many were Cadillac carbs.

SUPRCHY:
Just found the answer to question #1. I just had my hands on a Primary Rod marked 37J from a 7045193. Since the 9C calls for a 7043537 and the rod is marked 37J(which falls inline 7043536 = 36J & 7043538 = 38J) I feel pretty good about this one.
While question #4 asks about the Auxiliary Rod and this one is marked 35B. If we assumed it is the original that would be a 17052814?
No way to know for sure, but this carburetor was not a reman and it looks fairly original to me.
Let me know if you have any evidence either way.

SUPRCHY:
Just found the answer to question #4 about the Auxiliary Rods. It's in a 9A-100 catalog dated 1988.
It lists 3 Aux. rods as:
17052814 35B
17052815 52B
17052816 50B
So that only leaves the two Primary rods.

Kenth:
The 17053335 and 17053339 would be 35L and 39L as the L series rods starts with 170533xx.
SUPRCHY:
Kenth,
I found those listed in the Big Book 9C's, but have been unable to verify that they actually existed, short of buying an ebay carb with those and hoping they were not changed somewhere along the way. That's how I verified the ones in the 7045193 lol.
Thanks for the information!
