First I want to say a quick hi, but most importantly a HUGE thank you to you Cliff!

Thank you for adding me to your forum, and especially for your help and advice to date on the correct parts to get for my carburettors, and for your easy to read books. I'm so glad I made contact with you before beginning to strip down my two Quadrajets. You cannot imagine my joy to find your accessible one-stop-shop for advice and parts. The back-up I get from you gives me a huge confidence boost as I get stuck in to restore the intricate workings of a Quadrajet.
So again, thank you.

Right now, I am restoring a 1976 Jeep Cherokee Chief, and have 3x 1982 J20's waiting for my attention.

I re-built the Turbo400 using your book Cliff, which was easy to follow and made clear things I did not know - which was just about everything! I come from a furniture / woodwork / building background.

I want to keep away from electronic wizardry, keeping as much as possible to old-school mechanical tech. After some research and reading through FSJ Forums, I decided that the QJet was the best carburettor for both the AMC304, and AMC360 engine in two of my vehicles. Two J20's have the 258 CID (4.2L) inline 6.

I have completely dismantled one carby, ultrasonic cleaned all parts, the main body & air horn is being re-coloured, and steel parts being plated in appropriate yellow//gold, blue, and black zinc and chromate passivate as I write. Soon I can move on to checking for true and flat dimensions of the base, and installing new bush with your drill and bush kit.
Maybe I will pop some images on here when I have the parts back in my workshop.

Best wishes.
Albert.

PROGRESS!

I have had so many questions which none of my friends and contacts have been able to help my understanding of the inner workings of the Quadrajet.

I am Soooo grateful to have found your book Cliff, and access to the forum. I jump in frequently as it seems to take me many attempts to read and re-read passages in the book, look at all the pictures, and get another angle on the subject from other members on this forum, before I begin to understand what I am trying to achieve, how to do it, and why!
All of my questions have already been asked by other forum members, and many of them have had your advice added to boot, so I have avoided the need to post yet another question on the same thing that others already have. You must have the patience of a Saint sometimes!

Anyway, I'll try to attach some images of my progress.
