You finally find a decent used carb, similar number, get a rebuild kit, disassemble and rebuild it on your kitchen table, and take a moment and pause; it looks beauty-ful.

Then you go and pull your old carb off, place them side by side to confirm everything, than "BAM" - you realize that the TV Cable arm from your newly rebuilt carb was hacksawed off at some time!  Whod-a-thunked it?  Maybe they had a custom intake or something, but regardless, I now have a nice looking small boat anchor as it is...

Does anyone have a usable (NOS or "Cliff-Quality" rebuilt is not required) throttle body for sale? I don't care if the needle valve covers are gone, just that it's good enough to bolt on and go. Email me at mrk00 "at" psci.net

Thank you!

Thanks, I didn't see any spare parts listed here on the site.
I presume that casting number was used for more than just 1984 Chevy 305's. But yes, I do need to get one, how much would it cost? Do you take PayPal?

Thank you again for your assistance!

We don't list any used parts for sale on the website.

There are quite a few choices for linkage on the later CCC carbs.  It would be best to match it up by having the old one, or a pic of it.

I'm curious why you aren't using the throttle body from the carb that was removed, or at least the shaft out of it?.....Cliff

Here's the carb I rebuilt and the original one as still on my car:

Interesting question...  :)

I wanted to first test the rebuilt carb (it may not work correctly;something I missed, electronic part issue, other unknown) first, and also, and I did a really dumb thing...

When I had that carb off last year to cure the badly leaking well plugs, I didn't know to take the throttle body off.

Thus, not only did I miss 3 other potential leaky plugs, I got a healthy bead of Marine Tex on the side of the TB there.  I presume that I'd shear off the plugs and maybe bust the casting of the AH if I tried to chip it away and separate the TB from the AH.

I will eventually carefully Dremel it away from the AH and then rebuild that carb, but only after this new one is confirmed good.  It's hard enough to find a decent E4ME (as you know from last year's rebuilder fiasco) so I want to have  spare around.  I do like these era GM cars, and one never knows about the future... ;)

Thanks!

Cliff,

When you have the time to check, if you do have one, can you let me know price and shipping and payment type I'll get it right out? I'd call but it's not urgent and I know you are up to your ears in venturis.  :)

Thanks!
