circle track q jet

Cliff Ruggles:
Take a look into the primary side at idle and see if fuel is coming off the booster (nozzle drip).  Sounds like it may not have enough idle fuel for the application.

We set-up all of our circle track carbs to run straight off the primary jets.  The metering rods and power piston are not needed for that type of racing.....Cliff

Cliff,
Will check on the nozzle drip. What modifications are need once you  remove the metering rods, power piston and apt. screw and spring??  Vacum ports, jet size, ect. ????????

       Thanks Cliff

Cliff Ruggles:
Reduce the jet size, block the vacuum supply to the power piston, or just leave it in the hole with no spring under it.  I would have to know the carb number, and the main airbleed size to recomend a starting point for the jetting.....Cliff

The carb we ended up using was the 17084226 with recipie #3 it currently has .076 jets and 51m metering rods. What do you gain by leaving metering rods out???

      Thanks!!!!!!
