Modding a 17059504 to equate to a 17059211?

On my 79 Corvette I have a Qjet numbered 17059504 instead of the correct 17059211. I wanted to rebuild the carb and just wondered if it would be at all possible to rebuild it to something like what is supposed to be on there?

What are the main differences between the 2 carbs? I know the one on their is for an auto and my car has the manual transmission. Are there lots of different sized tubes and orifices that would render my task impossible? lol.

Hey Cliff, lol.

Just about to pull the carb now....only a year later!

Would I be better looking for a similar core to rebuild or can I work with this one? If I was to look for a core , what other numbers would be suitable? I missed out on a 17058211 which I assume apart from being a year out would be the same internally?

I'd work with the one you have.  Any calibration can be installed in any casting, no need to get another unit.  We have everything you would need to set it up exactly for the application, and get it up to par for modern fuel.....Cliff
