quadrajet on a 385 series bbf manifold

has anybody had any luck putting a q jet on a 385 series stock 4 barrel manifold without a spacer plate? if so how did it turn out.1970's vintage.thanks dean

Not on a stock cast iron manifold but I ran one on an Edelbrock Performer using an inverted spreadbore to squarebore adapter which I massaged slightly with a die grinder. Seemed to work fine. I then switched to a Performer RPM which accepts either style carb and that worked fine also.

im running a spacer right now on my 79 f250 460 seems to work pretty good with the 800 quad. id just like to get rid of the spacer.thanks dean.im still using the stock 1970 cast intake
