bentshaft you must have a carb with an adjustable APT thats where the spring goes . it should measure .500 long and .300 od.the APT should be just in front of the power piston on 1975 and newer carbs.it goes under the APT to hold pressure on the screw from turning when your driving.what is the carb no?dean

The spring in that picture actually goes under the accel pump. and is not a power piston spring.

 Yeah, it does. Don't have a clue why that spring is even on the power piston. :o Sorry for giving wrong info guys.
