Title: New here from SoCal!
Post by: Lance70 on June 20, 2012, 02:33:21 PM
Hey everyone, my name is Lance. I currently own a 1970 Chevy Longhorn C20 with a 350/4spd and 4.10 gears. I just picked up a quadrajet from a friend #7044513 from his left over parts pile...unfortunately he cut off the little pin on the secondary throttle shaft to pull the shaft out the same side as the primary....So I am on the hunt for the right secondary shaft.
I am currently deburring the entire carb body as I dont like casting flash...I get that from my engine building/machine shop days. Anyhow I would like to send the body to Mr. Ruggle's shop to be re-coated.
On my truck right now is a 7040208 quadrajet that seems to be in bad shape....Could I use the secondary shaft from "MY" carb in the one I am building?...Also is the 7044513 worth building or should I scrap it and get something newer?
Thank You and I am glad to be here.
Lance
