I obtained a another new-to-me q-jet. The numbers are:
17080284
3379 CWU
Is this a good carb? It uses torx head screws instead of flat headed screws...
Can you gurus please tell me the specs of this unit? Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with that part number. As long as it's not computer controlled, it will be a nice unit, being a 1980 model. I use and prefer the later non CCC carburetors over early stuff. Much better castings, and nice features like APT, etc. Most are the larger castings as well.....Cliff

I have finally cracked this carb open & discovered a few issues to note:
It has no black "filler cup";
A brass float;
Play in the primary shaft; and
Big air bleeds.
It currently has 73 primary jets, 43K primary rods, CH secondary rods& a J hanger.
I want to put this carb on a roller camed 350 that will use headers, an air gap manifold & will make over 400hp. Can you make a recommendation as to what I need to buy from you to achieve this goal & what I need to buy from you to correct the issues noted above. Thank you for your time.
