Title: secondaries sticking
Post by: fsted on July 28, 2012, 05:18:34 PM
Hi Cliff, i am having some trouble with a carb, the secondaries will not close all the way sometimes resulting in a very fast idle. The carb is on a dirt track car. I  bought the parts and got the tune up from you, and the carb runs great except for this issue. i did not rebush the base plate. this is second plate i have tried. will the primary bushings also work in the secondaries? if so i will order a bushing kit.  thanks for the help Ed

ed im not half as smart as cliff .but iv'e dealt with this before. the primary bores are 5/16 and the secondary are 3/8. so no the bushings wil not fit . my problem was a slight mis alignment of the butterflies .to fix the problem i loosened all the screws and centered everything.side to side front to rear. problem gone. hope this helps dean
