Title: Need to add a correct geometry tv cable stud
Post by: Hottrodd on August 24, 2012, 08:00:51 PM
I have a original 67 Gto, still has the orginial quadrajet & intake installed, I recently install a 200r4 trans, to get a OD, the problem is having the tv cable stud on the throttle linkage in the correct geometry, do anyone make a adapter to bolt on? Or is there a different year throttle shaft I could swap out to get it?. I dont want to do anything to the carb that can't be reversed back to original?
Any help?
Thanks

Those carbuetors use bolt on linkage, which is still made and available.  I would get an aftermarket bolt on linkage and modify the lower portion to provide a good hook up point for the TV cable, correct distance from center.

We MIG weld on an extra piece and drill several holes in it to provide plenty of options for a hook up point for the TV cable.....Cliff

I can't remember the exact measurement without looking at a later CCC carburetor or truck unit.

Might be 1 5/8" or close to it?  I always walk over to a mid to late 80's unit and check the distance when I'm setting up an early unit to work with a later OD transmission that used a TV cable.....Cliff

Good info here it's a 700 but they use the same geometry.
