I noticed while adjusting the fast idol screw, and only while the engine was not running that my carb is dripping gas from the primary throttle shaft. It only happens when I move the throttle. Does this mean I definitely have to replace the throttle bushings?
Thanks,
Greg

greg. a properly rebuilt carb should always get a set of bushings.there almost always loose. even new. most folks i know call a rebuild (new needle and seat, gaskets, and a excellent clean job on the OUTSIDE but they don't do a very good job inside. i think most folks are scared of all the pieces. if you dont feel real good about it buy a junker, take it apart and back together till you understand how it works and what does what.jmtc dean

I did a complete rebuild minus the bushing. I have no problem taking anything apart. :-) I actually enjoy it.

Our bushing install kit is very easy to use, no drill press required, just a hand drill and something to grind the backs of the screws off before removing them.
New bushings will reduce clearance to less than .001".....Cliff

Thanks Cliff. I ordered your kit today. Do you have a divorced choke that looks like the attached pic?
Mine takes about 10 minutes to open fully. Will a new one open faster? Do different springs that look the same, open at a different rate or throw the linkage a different distance?
My carb is 17059286.
Thanks,
Greg

I don't stock any of the divorced chokes, not enough interest in them, and most part numbers have been discontinued....Cliff
