I am attempting to pull my idle tubes and I have ruined the collar on the first one. Drove it down 1/8" and attempted to remove the assembly with a de-tipped drywall screw as seen in Cliff's Q jet book.
After it failed I heated & retried, then did another heat & try with a second screw. The upper 1/16 inch of the collar has pulled out. What would you say to do?
I am about to get some little easy outs unless you have a better method.
Help a guy out with an idea.

Nevermind, took another try with a smaller deck screw. Voila. Out!

Good news. Some can be stubborn. Heating the casting and good engagement in the collar is the key to getting them out easily.....Cliff
