Title: Camshaft Duration
Post by: jam019 on May 15, 2009, 03:29:23 PM
Can anyone tell me what is the highest camshaft duration that a 1976 Q-jet 750 cfm will work with in a Chevy 350 if built correctly.

There really is no limit to how much camshaft the carburetor will manage, but the engine needs to have the compression ratio well chosen for the camshaft specs.

We have set-up q-jets for engines making as little as 5" vacuum at idle speed, and they worked fine....Cliff
