I have a 1968 Firebird with a 69 400 engine. The engine hasn't been modified, except the carb was replaced by the previous owner with a holley. I'd like to junk the holley and go back to a Quadrajet. I may be able to talk a friend out of either a 17057274 and 17058253. If i can't get my hands on the 7274, will the 8253 work in the Pontiac?

Both would work fine with minor recalibration, upgraded internals and correct rebuilding.
The Pontiac unit has the large front vent tube, which may be a problem unless you use the correct air cleaner base, or make a hole for it (and seal it up) in the existing base.....Cliff
