Title: retrofit TPS to mechanical carb

Has anyone ever retrofit a TPS module onto an older mechanical carb?  Can it be done?  I'm contemplating a 4L80e swap into an older pickup and TPS is one of the two signals the transmission controller would need to function properly.  Thanks!
