Title: 301 throttle plate w/ 17058 chevy truck main body

Is there any reason I can't couple the two together? I would use Cliff's 'reducers' for the main air bleeds so  the CA carb doesn't run lean.  Will/should it run ok w/o bypass air?

Idle bypass air was used to lower the throttle angle.  It is not needed for "mild" applications that make good vacuum at idle (in most cases).

Idle bypass air is NOT used to lean or richen up the idle mixture.  The amount of fuel available to the mixture screws is controlled by other items in the carburetor......Cliff
