Title: Pressurizing float bowl passages to detect plug and needle/seat leaks
Post by: Rhett on January 11, 2013, 05:44:52 AM
What kind of a rig do you guys use to pressurize the bowl for leaks? I havent been able to masker keeping all the jet holes airtight'

My 66 Buick appears to be leaking pretty good, despite a good marine-tex job..

No need to seal everything off.  High pressure air thru a long nozzle directly into the jet holes will easily show bottom plug leaks with soap/water on them.

To test N/S, install the needle, fill the bowl with soap/water, holed the needle down firmly, and apply compressed air into the inlet at the fuel filter housing.....Cliff
