I have a Q-Jet @ 7045224 TJ that supposedly came from a Chevy 400 to rebuild. The unit has inside the bore where a M/C solenoid usually goes a screed solenoid of some type. My question is -- can this be removed and does the hole in the carb body need to be plugged. I am not using this on a car requiring a M/C solenoid. Thx

i believe what you have is chevys first APT in the fuel bowl. you should have an extra needle assy also that is sticking in the bore where the newer apt limiting screw and spring go.i believe you can plug these and with a lot of additional work make it work . personally if i didnt need it for a restro id find a better carb to start with. thats my 2 cents. dean

I think you are right. Between plugging, new parts and changing the choke from hot air to electric will be much more than the carb is worth both money and value of a resto. Thanks
