Title: Drill bits for idle tubes
Post by: 429bbf on March 17, 2013, 07:44:42 PM
for the guys that dont want to pull the idle tubes or just resize with the tubes in place. MAC makes a drill set that is 1 7/8 long bits . they will reach the restriction if you don't put them in the pin vise to far.PART NO.TD13MS   includes bits. .0225-.0250-.0280-.0310-.0330-.0360-.0380.-.040-.042-.0465-.055-..0635 also comes with pin vise.I don't remember what it cost. i bought them over a year ago.dean

Just adding my experience to this old topic. I just bought the same Mac Tools tip drill kit. The drill bits are good but unfortunately the pin vise has a low-quality collet (i.e. its "jaws" were cut off-center). As a result, the drill bit wobbles considerably as you use the pin vise.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have been looking for a nice set as well. I will keep looking.

You can get the taper length numbered drills from amazon, not a set but individually.

Usually have a good selection, but sometimes not available. Average $2-3 each.

They are 2 inches up to about #69 or 70. Don't need them that small that long tho.

Search taper length drill #60 for example.
