Title: Which power piston spring?
Post by: webfoot on March 19, 2013, 11:09:30 AM
I bought the HP Kit for my 17080253 carb which will go on my 68 pontiac gto.  Motor is a very mild build, has 2262F flat top pistons, #16 heads, comp 268H cam, and ram air exhaust manifolds.  Just wondering which spring I should go with.

Suppose I should have also mentioned the motor is a 400.  Guessing from what little I have read on the site I should use the light blue one.

The light blue would be fine.  The orange spring would also work, but not quite as strong as the light blue spring.  Both work good for engines with moderate size cams in them....Cliff

Thanks Cliff, just got to get the APT set and this is ready to go back together. Of course I removed it but didn't count the turns - probably would be way different than the factory setting anyway.  I will install the handy hex plug so it can be adjusted without taking the carb apart.
