Just a new try at posting some pictures. This should be of a '76 Q-jet. If this works, I have officially have become smarter than a fifth grader at the age of 49 years old, ha! By the way if anyone is interested in the carb, it is a 17059240. (all original from what I can tell but I have not opened her up yet.

Just click on this (http://cliffshighperformance.dreamhosters.com/simplemachinesforum/Themes/Anecdota_20g/images/bbc/img.gif) and insert the link from the pic between the two. :)

See that! I guess I am ALMOST smarter than a 5th grader but thanks Ethan. You're the best. Us old folks need all the help we can get! (BTW, the pic is of a 17056240, not the 17059240 that I stated). I'm figurin' it out, slowly but surely.

Omaha, that's a nice looking carb, much cleaner than the ones I usually run across. what are you asking for it?
-
I guess I would take $80 for it plus the shipping. (I don't know how much it cost to ship, have never done that yet, haha) I did however clean this carb in my small ultrasonic but it was not too bad to start with. I just put the whole thing in the parts cleaner. It is missing the stuff on the passenger side but I have some from other carb I would throw in. Remember this is a buick carb and the funky linkage thing you may have to deal with unless you want to change out the throttle shaft to a chevy one. (I could do that also for a price). Carb has hardly any warpage. Looks to be all original.

Omaha, what did you use for cleaning solvent in your ultrasonic parts cleaner? billy 2

I used Pine-Sol and some dawn dish soap mixed together. About 3 1/2 gals of water and 12 ounces of pinesol and a big ol' squirt of the Dawn. This is all a guesstimate. The heat was set on high (as high as It can go 180 degrees). seems to work much better than just water and the dawn soap. This ultrasonic is small but just big enough to fit a Q-jet, I wish it had a bit more power. Also, I do not let the carb sit on the bottom of the tank, I suspend it with coat hangers in the basket, this also seems to help. My unit is a KENDALL I think it is 450 watts but a lot of that is for the heat. Think I paid about 400$ for it about 2 years ago. Bought it online. I think the purple cleaner would be another good option but have not tried it yet.
