Title: ok. don,t laugh im confused on snap ring???

One of my best friends just bought a 7040263 carb. asked me to change the accelerator pump, no biggy ok pump has the undercut for the rubber boot( i figured that much out) so where does this large snap ring go that comes with it, im asuming it holds boot down somehow?? Right???

Rich, throw that pump in the trash and get one of our good pumps.  If the pump is cut for the boot it's from an over the counter kit.

That carburetor doesn't use a pump cut for the boot, or the boot/retainer.  Only the Ram Air carburetors that year use those parts.....Cliff
