Howdy All,
Doing final adjustments on the QJ before it goes on the truck and it looks like I amy have buggered the secondary opening stop rod.
With the choke closed I have very close to .015" gap between the rod and the opening stop lever. With the choke all the way open I have waaaay more than .015" more like 5/32".
This happened because I bent the short end of the rod to get a full 90deg on the secondaries. To get the bend I ended up pulling the rod through the throttle shaft towards the short side hence the large gap on the choke off measurement.
I understand why the rod needs to hit the opening stop lever with the choke open, I don't understand the second measurement with the choke off.
so just how bad did I mess up?

QJ 17085408 rebuilt with a kit from Cliff's including new idle air tubes and a new secondary air door cam.

Secondary lock-out. The best thing you could do there is to throw it away. It is not needed, provided the operator of the vehicle has enough common sense not to go on the floorboard on a really cold engine......Cliff
