Ok I did my rebuild last night and something is wrong. Just tuning the fuel pump on to start it and gas is poring out the vent tube on the front. I set my float to 1/4" Is my float stuck or something? it was moving freely when I reassembled it.

Did you make sure to seat the needle-seat tightly, and put the washer underneath? Also, did you remove the old washer?
-
Needle seat was installed nice and tight along with the washer. I just double checked my old parts pile and the washer is with the old needle seat. Only thing I can think of is the float either isn't seating or is two high. I starting taking the air horn off while on the truck but it started poring down rain.

How did you hang the needle, if at all? What's your fuel pressure?
-
I hung the needle just like this. These are the old parts. is there a better way to hang it?

It looks like the hook is going through one of the holes? If so, that's incorrect. That can side load the needle and allow fuel to bypass.
Take a look at this finished carb:

Ok that did the trick. I tested it by having the wife turn the key to on while I held the pivot point of the float down. It cuts the gas off good now.

Good news. I envy your rain - it was mid 90s today. :)
