Title: Help with apt
Post by: shrugs on July 22, 2013, 08:16:48 AM
I just rebuild my q-jet and it has the apt screw that is in the base plate. Before I knew what it was, I removed it and did not note it's setting. Does anyone have a suggestion for a setting to start with?

Try doing what Cliff does. Also, do you have his book?

Set the idle mixture screws for best idle quality at the leanest settings.

Set the APT using the "tip-in" procedure in our book.

This will put both idle and part throttle on the edge of lean, and should get it thru emissions....Cliff[\quote]

What is the carburetor number and application?

Did you use one of our kits?

We sell an external APT screw for the early APT units, and usually supply it with our kits if the customer was successful at removing the old one.....Cliff
