carb is on a 75 vette, just installed a goodwrench eng. 260 hp, edlebrock intake, all other is bone stock, it was doing this before the engine change, just didn't worry about it then, but now with the new eng. and more HP I want it to work! as soon as the secondary's open it bogs, hesitates, car runs great on the primaries, I just ordered the book:) I will get the carb #. butch 8)

The book will help a lot, there could be a number of issues and it is hard to pick the correct one over the computer without some additional info.

What is the carburetor number?
Lots of reasons you could be getting a "bog", hesitation, stumble, etc. The first course of action is to install one of our kits, they come with the parts needed to get the carb up to par with this new fuel. Tuning would be next, if the problem still exists.....Cliff

carb # is 7045222, also does this carb supposed to have the rear vacuum break, the 1975 Chevrolet service and overhaul manual shows one on it, my carb does not have one on it. also Cliff what is the turn around time for U to rebuild my carb? butch

We're still backlogged well into next year. That carb used a rear pull-off, but it is not needed as long as the front pull-off is working correctly.
The 1975 models are the most difficult of the q-jets, as they have an "odd" APT system. Most likely in your case you just need to install smaller secondary metering rods.
A new secondary plastic cam and spring would be a good idea.
A bad accl pump will also cause stumble/hesitation/bog when you get into the secondaries. I would install one of our kits to get the carb up to par for modern fuel, and improve performance in all areas.....Cliff
