Q/jet has been all rebuilt w/cliff's kit and xtra parts and works well; All seemed to be running good when I put it away but one adj. I still need to get closer is the adj. with the screw that closes the choke .I need to get the correct choke setting at first start . I'm not sure on the adj.of the screw ??? It seems to be right as far as the secondary setting .

Start at a 1/4" gap between the choke flap and the top of the air horn.
Do this with a fully cold, set choke. Apply vacuum to the pull-off and adjust to 1/4. This is basically the cold idle enrichment setting.

Thanks for the info !!!

3/16 works for me. It doesn't take much to make a difference.

Bob,
I typically set up my choke adjustments at 1/8" gap between the choke plate and the airhorn housing with the choke
set cold. Then I apply vacuum to the choke pulloff and adjust the pulloff screw until there is 3/16" gap between the choke plate and the airhorn. If I remember correctly, your engine was idling a bit high after running then sitting for 10 minutes, the high idle would reduce after 30 seconds to 1 minute. To remedy this, you may need to loosen the 3 screws
attaching the choke to the housing and rotate the choke clockwise to get an initial setting(when engine is cold) of about 3/16 to 1/4". That should improve the hot start brief high idle condition. If not, give me a call.

Same here. 1/8" inch gap.
