Title: CARB CLEANING
Post by: qjetsrule on May 17, 2014, 11:35:21 AM
I TOOK APART A QJET AND THE INSIDE WAS PACKED WITH WHITE POWDER RESIDUE. AFTER INITIAL CLEANING WITH GASOLINE AND DRYING, SPRAYED WITH BRAKE CLEANER, THEN CLEANED IN ULTRASONIC CLEANER. I STILL HAD TO BRUSH AND CLEAN EXTENSIVELY. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT DISOLVES THIS STUFF IN ONE SHOT? I'M STUMPED THE CASTING IS EVEN CORRODED WHERE THIS STUFF WAS SITTING!!!

First, and quite a minor point, but typing in all caps is in online ettique considered shouting.

Second, if corroded enough - you may have to source a different carb.

 Got a picture?

You may want to try soaking it in CLR for a bit. You can get it at most hardware stores or Lowe's or Mennards.
Just don't soak it too long. Half hour is usually enough. Rinse it off with water.

 Calcium, Lime and Rust.
