Title: how to remove plug for apt
Post by: 70f400 on September 18, 2014, 05:20:36 AM
I have read threw the book several times and can not find a section on how to modify my carb (17057262) so I can adjust the APT screw externally.  there is an aluminum plug over the adjustment screw on the air horn.  Do I knock it out and tap it for a pipe plug?  I have rebuilt it using the parts I purchased from you.

if its like most of the later carbs. you just tap it out from the bottom and tap it to a 3/8-16 don't tap it to far . i only go deep enough so my allen head screw is flush when its tight. also take a hack saw and put a screwdriver slot in the top of the screw that way if you don't have the tool to turn it you can adjust with a small screwdriver. fwiw
