Title: No manifold port for power booster

Is it possible to drill the port in a 1976 olds Q-jet that has no hole for a fitting?

I just realized I have nowhere to hook up mu power booster vacuum line.

If I can't drill it is it possible to use a qjet base plate from a 78 qjet for a 403?

If not, will the rebuild kit for the 76 work on the 78 qjet? they are both for a olds 403.

wecome to chp. do you have cliffs book? it shows how to add the hole in the base plate if it doesnt have one. (just bust out the drill bits and do a little tapping 1/4 pipe. be carefull not to tap it to far . im sure you know pipe threads are tapered and if you tap it to far you will run out of threads and the fitting will still be loose.fwiw

Yes I just got the book today. I drilled and tapped it. Worked out perfectly.

Can I add ported ones too?

that carb should have 1 ported one for timing. you will have to let the master or someone else answer that i have never tried to add another ported source because i have never needed  another one. fwiw

Porting it was too tedious. I tee'd into the one ported one it had. After analyzing the base plate I found another ported vacuum. So now I am all set.

I want to thank you guys for helping me out. I greatly appreciate it.
