Hello everyone,

I have a Quadrejet # 7042953.
Can anyone tell me if this carb is worth rebuilding?

Thank you

I punched the number in on ebay motors and it came up as a 72 olds w30 manual trans carb. judging by your login name I find it hard to believe you are asking this question. The answer is absolutely yes. I would discuss the proper way with Cliff. With today's gas you may need special jetting and other mods to get the most from this stock unit. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I apologize!  I should have been more precise with my ? Is this a good base for a modified QJ or am I better of with a later model ? And yes... you are correct ! I do know what the application is for this carb. Just don't know it's capabilities or limitations for modification.
Had an early model done by Cliff a while back. It was beautiful ! Ran perfect ! He is the Man...

I like Oldsmobiles also, I have a 70 w30 stick car. On a restored car I would stick with the original carb, which can be upgraded to run as wild as you like and still look stock. If origionality doesn't matter the '77-'80 Olds carbs are the ticket with electric choke, improved float, and adjustable part throttle. Don't run a stock quadrajet on a modified motor, they were calibrated to meet emmissions, with today's gas E85, you can easily detonate. Talk to Cliff before doing anything, as you said he is Zee Man! good luck
