Title: Base plate compatibility
Post by: HeathD on December 03, 2014, 12:33:34 AM
Started tearing down my first carb and noticed the base plate still had the caps over the idle screws (nice it hasnt be messed with).   Unfortunately the primary shaft is bent so I had a look at another carb I had on the shelf and stripped it for comparison.   Looks in much better condition but is a few years earlier.

Can I use the older base or should I just swap the bits over and pop out the caps in the newer base?

i can't answer your question unless i had both in front of me. but I've straightened a number of shafts there no that bad . if nothing else just change the shaft if they have the same parts . you have to pull it to bush anyway.fwiw
