Title: Jetting Question
Post by: WhiteC3 on November 22, 2009, 09:37:24 PM
I have a 81 Vette 350 A/T. It is bone stock, except it is now been decomputerized. I have a new HEI distributor with vac. and mech advance and a noncomputer controlled Q-jet carb. I researched jetting combos and I'm looking for some input on the subject. 1978 specs 77 jet and 52or 53 pri rods 1980 used 72 jets and 41 rods. which set up should I use or is there somthing better? I did try 77 52 (new edelbrock rods with .36 power tip not correct .26 tip originally used) It ran fine I did not try wide open throttle. Thanks in advance...

You did not provide the carburetor number.

If it is a 1978 Chevrolet hot air choke model, it will require larger jets and small metering rods to even be close.

I recomend getting one of our recalibration packages for those carburetors.  They come with 4 air bleeds, jets, and metering rods......Cliff
