Good evening Gentle beasts. I have a questions about secondary metering rods.
From what I can tell when the secondary air doors open it rotates a cam in the middle of the shaft that make the meter rods go up?
When I open my doors by hand I see the cam turn, but my meter rods never move. The cam doesn't appear to be touching the hanger. I checked another carb in the shop and those rods do move up on the cam.
I know they are not stuck because you can move the meter rods by hand. Maybe they are not going all the way down? Some sediment in the seats maybe?
Any knowledge would be a great help.

Many times, the plastic cam is broken and will no longer lift the secondary rod hanger.

Thanks for the reply.. I can see the cam so ill look this evening to see if its loose.

The cams get loose, crack and break, and may be causing that issue. A bent hanger or metering rods woln't cause the hanger not to lift, it will just have the metering rods up higher at every point, unless of course the metering rods are up so high they are sitting outside the jet holes in the main casting.......Cliff

It turned out the CAM was completely missing. I ordered a new one and replaced it. It's working again. Thanks for the help.
